20,8km Countryside route along 't Geleeg Meerhout

Along 't Geleeg is a cycle route of 20.8 kilometers that takes you through our 4 parishes and introduces you to the various farms, the Meerhout mills and other valuable places. You will also pick up some of the Meerhouts dialect along the way.

From farm to farm

By following this cycle route you will learn a lot about contemporary agriculture in our municipality. The attractive information panels inform you about the activities that take place within the company, but at the same time look back to the former farm life.

Play educational

In addition to adult recreational enthusiasts, schoolchildren are also an important target group. All information is therefore presented in a playful way.

In 't Merrets

In order not to let our rich dialect go to waste, part of the information board has been set up in the Merrets, the Meerhouts dialect.

The route was created in consultation with representatives of the agricultural, tourism and local history sectors. The project was approved for European rural development grants.
