A.S. Adventure walk in 't Mechels Broek

The Mechels Broek, located on the territory of Mechelen, Bonheiden and Muizen, is a swampy area next to the river Dijle. The nature reserve is managed by vzw Natuurpunt. There are many different species of birds present as well as many amphibians due to the large water features. Several Galloway cattle graze there. The Mechels Broek is ideal for taking walks through nature. Nature observation is possible thanks to a watchtower, a bird watching hut and along the banks of the two lakes and the river that irrigates the area, namely the Boeimeerbeek or Vrouwvliet.
Nearby is the sports and recreation area De Nekker and the event and exhibition hall Nekkerhal.
