L'associazione Jardins de Tomates è stata fondata da tre amici giardinieri nel 2005.
Affascinati dai pomodori cimelio che offrivano una vasta gamma di colori e sapori che non avevano nulla in comune con le varietà rosse disponibili sul mercato, i nostri amici si sono presto trovati a capo di una collezione di circa 500 varietà.
Decisi a condividere la loro passione con il grande pubblico, nell'agosto 2006 i nostri amici organizzarono un'esposizione di pomodori in occasione di un grande mercatino dell'usato nel sud della Gironda, presentando più di 350 varietà a un pubblico tanto stupito quanto ammirato.
Alcuni assaggi hanno conquistato i visitatori e questo è bastato per decidere di creare un'associazione.
