Die Fordham University ist eine private Universität in New York City. Sie ist eine von 28 Mitgliedshochschulen der Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. Derzeit sind 14.700 Studenten immatrikuliert.
Die Fordham University wurde 1841 von der römisch-katholischen Diözese New York als Saint John’s College gegründet. Ihren heutigen Namen erhielt sie 1907. Sie war die erste höhere katholische Bildungseinrichtung im Nordosten der USA.
2010 spendete der Fordham-Alumnus Mario Gabelli von GAMCO Investors seiner Alma mater 25 Millionen Dollar, um die Erneuerung der Business School und die Abwerbung von mehreren Ivy-League Dozenten zu finanzieren.
Die Fordham Business School wurde daraufhin umbenannt in Gabelli School of Business.
