La prima pietra è stata posata nel 1900 e nel 1902 l'edificio, concepito già come casa di riposo, è stato completato. Il rivestimento esterno dell'edificio è rimasto pressoché invariato nel corso degli anni. All'interno, sono stati naturalmente effettuati alcuni lavori di ristrutturazione, sempre con rispetto per l'unico contesto dell'edificio. Gli ultimi lavori di abbellimento hanno trasformato l'edificio in una moderna casa di riposo con 43 camere singole, due camere per coppie e 6 appartamenti assistiti. Dall'inizio del 2021 gli ultimi residenti sono partiti e l'edificio è rimasto vuoto. Alla fine del 2024, l'edificio è stato venduto e attende una nuova destinazione.
