Die Gemeinde liegt im Gerichtsbezirk Kitzbühel.Going liegt im Übergangsbereich zwischen Leukental und Sölllandl, westlich von St. Johann in Tirol zwischen den Kitzbüheler Alpen im Süden und dem Wilden Kaiser im Norden. Im Bereich seiner südlichen Gemeindegrenze grenzt Going an das Brixental.
