On top of the Bolderberg is the Kluis, an old hermit's house. The Hermitage dates from 1673 and was built according to the plans of the chapel of Our Lady of Loreto and a few living quarters. The centuries-old beech trees nearby are impressive. The natural forests on the hill consist mainly of oak and birch-typical of the acidic soil. Near the vault you have a beautiful view of the castle Terlaemen (private property-not accessible). The garden of the Hermitage is surrounded by old hornbeams that have been pruned very carefully. The 7 linden trees planted in a semicircle in front of the building symbolize the 7 sorrows of Mary. This statue stands on top of the façade of the chapel.
