Ferna ist eine Gemeinde im thüringischen Landkreis Eichsfeld. Sie gehört zur Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Lindenberg/Eichsfeld.
Ferna wurde erstmals 1339 urkundlich erwähnt. Vom 16. bis zum 19. Jahrhundert unterstand Ferna dem Westernhagenschen Gericht Berlingerode. 1815 bis 1945 gehörte die Gemeinde zur preußischen Provinz Sachsen. Ab 1945 war sie Teil der Sowjetischen Besatzungszone, ab 1949 der DDR. Von 1961 bis zur Wende und Wiedervereinigung 1989/1990 wurde Ferna von der Sperrung der nahen innerdeutschen Grenze beeinträchtigt. Seit 1990 gehört der Ort zum wieder gegründeten Bundesland Thüringen.
