Ramsau im Zillertal is a municipality with 1,670 inhabitants in the Zillertal and belongs to the district of Schwaz in Tyrol. The municipality is located in the district court of Zell am Ziller. Ramsau is situated in the rear Zillertal, east of the Ziller. The area of the municipality ranges from 600 meters above sea level at the Ziller to the 2,350-meter-high Hochfeld. The municipality covers an area of nine square kilometers. More than half of it is forested, a quarter is used for agriculture, and nine percent are alpine pastures.
