The house at Gospertstraße 24 is a community house in Eupen in the German-speaking community of East Belgium. It was built in 1701 in the Baroque style and was placed under monument protection in 1987. The multi-altered and later enlarged town house is one of the older buildings in the city of Eupen and has been shaped by its changing owners and various uses. The main building likely dates back to the first known owner, a certain Arnold Pelzer. He sold the house to Egidius Meven, who operated a dye factory there around 1707. Around 1770, the Liège mayor Jean-François de Harlez owned the property as a city villa and later transferred it to the family of Matthias Joseph Defayay, who established the Schererwinkel for their cloth, Casimir, and Circassian factory "Mostert & Defayay" there. Subsequently, the property was owned for some time by the district administrator Amand von Harenne, who then sold it to the couple Wilhelm Dallmann and Gertrud Willems. The Wetten family then took over the property before it was finally acquired by the Steffens brothers, first from a bank and later together with the neighboring houses at Gospertstraße 22, which had previously been co-used by Mostert & Defayay as service buildings, and after extensive renovations in the 1990s served as an apartment and commercial building. Most recently, the building complex at Gospertstraße 24 was again put up for sale in 2021.
