Zundert is a town in the Dutch province of North Brabant. As of January 1, 2021, the village has a population of 8,340. Zundert is located south of Etten-Leur and Breda along the Bredaseweg, south of Rijsbergen.De name 'Zundert' we first encounter in a deed of 1157, in which the bishop of Liège confirms the donation of tithes from Sunderda to the Abbey of Tongerlo. Declarations of names such as those derived from the Germanic goddess Sandraudiga, or secluded, are nowadays rejected. The meaning is sought today in: south-earth, land in the south. The current village of Zundert originated from the Groot-Zundert herdgang, which existed next to Klein-Zundert.
