Rooigemsebeek - lazo Mullem

Notable in the area between Kruishoutem and Oudenaarde are the exceptionally well-preserved village centers. While the historical relationship between church, castle, rectory, town hall, village inns, farms, and country houses in Flanders has been rapidly lost over the past fifty years, you need little imagination in Mullem, Lede, and Wannegem to envision the pastor writing letters between the castle, the farms, and the simple country houses. This concentration of heritage relics, combined with the expansive kouter landscape and modern agricultural activity, makes this walk and the three other short walks from this network along the Rooigemsebeek so special.
