El Meikensbossen es troba als peus del Poelberg i té una extensió d'aproximadament 63 hectàrees. Es pot gaudir d'un agradable passeig per un paisatge variat. Bosc vell i jove, deriva, fenc i prats. Una piscina aquí i allà. La vista del molí de Poelberg completa el quadre. Mentre gaudeixes del paisatge, els ocells cantors et regalen un bell interludi.
Entre el 2000 i el 2010, l' Agència per a la Natura i el Bosc va comprar 46 hectàrees de terreny en aquesta zona, de les quals 3,5 hectàrees pertanyien a l'antic Vijverbos.
El jove Meikensbos ja ofereix una sorprenent varietat de paisatges entre bosc vell i jove, prats naturals i horts de llavors.
