El Circuit de Hockenheim està situat a la ciutat de Hockenheim i acull el Gran Premi d'Alemanya de Fórmula 1 i el de GP2.
Aquest circuit es va construir l'any 1936 com a pista de proves de la marca automobilística Mercedes. El circuit original tenia gairebé vuit quilòmetres i consistia en dues llarguíssimes rectes amb dos grans revolts que les unien. Després de la Segona Guerra Mundial es va construir un nou circuit de Hockenheim, força llarg i amb un traçat que travessava alguns boscos i que bàsicament consistia en quatre rectes d'aproximadament 1.3 km, separades per una seqüència de xicans, i seguida per una part més estreta i revirada anomenada Motodrom i també coneguda com "de l'estadi" per les grans graderies que hi ha. Això fa que la configuració dels reglatges dels cotxes sigui complicada, ja que cal escollir - córrer amb el cotxe molt rasant per a optimitzar la velocitat a les rectes i comprometre l'adherència a la secció de l'estadi, o vice-versa. Va ser aquí on va morir d'accident Jim Clark.
