Guilford és un municipi del Regne Unit, que pertany al comtat de Surrey , del qual n'és la capital. És la seu del districte electoral homònim .
Guilford està situada en una vall enmig de la cadena de muntanyes calcàries anomenada North Down, per on passa el riu Wey, una obertura que formava part del Harrow Way un camí emprat des de la prehistòria per anar de la costa oest a la costa est de la Gran Bretanya. Aquesta secció de la Harrow Way, es també coneguda com "la ruta dels pelegrins" i té a la banda oest un turó anomenat Strata regia de Geldedone i a la banda est un altre turó, el Guildown on estan les ruïnes del castell.
