Die heutige Kirche stammt aus dem Jahre 1907 und wurde an dem Ort errichtet, wo sich die ehemalige Kapelle befand, die den Aufstand der Geusen und die Belagerung von Oostende (1601-1604) überstanden hatte. Das hölzerne Mobiliar stammt aus der Zeit von 1725 bis 1775. Die Eichentäfelung ist ein Musterbeispiel des Stils Ludwig XVI. Die Kanzel (1727), der prächtige Beichtstuhl, der Kreuzweg des Brügger Malers Dobbelaere aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, der kostbare Tabernakel und das antike Chorgestühl verdienen volle Aufmerksamkeit. Die antiken Sakristeischränke (1750-1788) enthalten zahlreiche Kostbarkeiten. Die prachtvolle Monstranz wurde durch den Genter Goldschmied Pieter Van Syghen angefertigt. Auch die graziöse Orgel aus dem Jahre 1750 von Andries Jacobus Berger gehört zu den Prunkstücken der Kirche.
