Die Wanderung von Maissin zum berühmten Bücherdorf Redu mit seinen zahlreichen Antiquariaten verbindet schöne und sehr unterschiedliche Naturlandschaften mit einer gehörigen Portion (Lese-)Kultur. Einst von Abwanderung bedroht, machten zwei ortsansässige Journalisten das 450-Seelendorf Redu 1984 zu einem riesigen Büchermarkt. Nach dem Vorbild des walisischen Dorfes Hay-on-Wye, das sich seit 1961 in ein einziges Antiquariat verwandelt hat, findet man heute in Redu rund 20 Buchhandlungen in ehemaligen Kuhställen und Bauernhäusern. Auch seltene Comics und deutschsprachige Buchschätze lassen sich dort finden. Natürlich bietet sich Redu auch für eine gastronomische Rast an.
