Der Jadebusen ist eine etwa 190 km² große Meeresbucht zwischen der Unterweser und der „Ostfriesischen Halbinsel“.
Er endet am südlichen Ende des Engpasses zwischen Wilhelmshaven und Butjadingen. Nördlich dieser Linie liegen die Innenjade und die Außenjade, zusammenfassend auch als Jade bezeichnet. Die wichtigsten Städte am Ufer des Jadebusens sind Wilhelmshaven im Nordwesten und Varel im Südwesten. Im Jadebusen steht der Leuchtturm Arngast als Leuchtfeuer für das Wilhelmshavener Jadefahrwasser.
