Nidau es una comuna suiza del cantón de Berna, capital del distrito administrativo de Biel/Bienne. Limita al norte con la ciudad de Biel/Bienne, al este con Port, al sur con Ipsach y al oeste con al Lago de Bienne.
Aunque el municipio no sea oficialmente bilingüe pues la lengua oficial es el alemán, la población francófona representa un 20% de la población total. Esto se debe a que Nidau se encuentra en la región bilingüe del cantón de Berna, Biel/Bienne.
