La batalla de Toro se libró en las inmediaciones de dicha localidad el 1 de marzo de 1476, entre las tropas de los Reyes Católicos por un lado y las de Alfonso V de Portugal y del príncipe Juan de Portugal por otro, dentro del transcurso de la guerra de sucesión castellana y que terminó con victoria del príncipe heredero Juan de Portugal frente al ala derecha de la Corona de Castilla,[n 13][n 14] y con victoria de las restantes tropas fernandinas sobre Alfonso V. [n 15][n 16]
