El atentado de Omagh se produjo el 15 de agosto de 1998, cuando un coche bomba explotó en el centro de la ciudad de Omagh, capital del condado de Tyrone, . El atentado fue reivindicado por el IRA Auténtico , una escisión del IRA Provisional opuesta al proceso de paz iniciado en el Acuerdo de Viernes Santo. Murieron 29 personas y cerca de 220 resultaron heridas.[1]
