La partie la plus ancienne entre la tour et l'église existante (en ruine) date de 1225. Au 14e siècle, suite à l'accroissement de la population, l'église fut agrandie en église halle. La nef centrale, les collatéraux et le transept ainsi que la flèche de la tour qui se trouvaient dans un état de délabrement complet, furent démolis en 1725. Du haut de la tour (43m), on peut jouir d'un panorama unique. A l'intérieur, dans la nef centrale actuelle se dressent des statues d'apôtres en bois du 13e siècle. Les autels et les confessionnaux sont de style baroque. La vénération de la Sainte-Croix miraculeuse a lieu dans cette église.
