Ce monument protégé en style baroque, érigé en pierre marneuse de la région, complète de façon charmante le paysage rural et les grottes de la commune de Jeker.
En 1647, la chapelle a été construite par le fils du charpentier, Herman Jekermans de Kanne. A 34 ans, il est parti pour Jérusalem, promettant, qu’à son retour, il bâtirait une copie du Saint-Sépulcre.
Malheureusement, le bâtiment fut endommagé durant la deuxième guerre mondiale, mais il fut restauré en 1960. C’est en 1995 qu’une nouvelle restauration fut terminée.
Ce qui attire le regard en particulier, c’est la façade de la chapelle, ornée de pilastres toscans et de sculpture.
Le banc, les arbres, la vue sur les collines environnantes, confèrent à cet endroit idyllique une atmosphère de sérénité.
