Le siège de Calais est entrepris durant la guerre de Cent Ans, lors de la chevauchée d'Édouard III de 1346 par les Anglais en septembre 1346, une semaine après la Bataille de Crécy, et va durer onze mois.
Durant l'hiver et le printemps, les Français arrivent à procurer des vivres et des renforts par voie de mer. Mais à partir du mois d'avril, les Anglais arrivent à fortifier l'entrée du port et à couper les communications de la ville.
