L'île d'Arran est la plus grande île du Firth of Clyde, en Écosse, et, avec une superficie de 432 km2, la septième plus grande île écossaise. Arran fait partie de l'autorité unitaire du North Ayrshire et, d'après le recensement de 2011, sa population s'élève à 4 629 habitants. Bien qu'elle soit couramment associée aux Hébrides, avec lesquelles elle partage beaucoup de points communs sur les plans physique et culturel, ces dernières sont localisées au nord et à l'ouest de la péninsule du Kintyre. Arran est montagneuse et a été décrite comme le « paradis des géologues ».
