Le château de Fraser est un monument écossais, l’un des châteaux de plan Z les plus élaborés et l'un des plus grands « châteaux de Mar ». Situé près de Kemnay, un village situé à 26 kilomètres à l’ouest d’Aberdeen, dans l’Aberdeenshire.
Le château est connu localement sous le nom Castle Fraser du nom de la famille qui y a vécu pendant quatre siècles. Auparavant, il est connu sous le nom de « château de Muchill-in-Mar » jusqu'en 1695. La famille serait originaire de l'Anjou en France. Le nom Fraser viendrait de Fredarius, Fresel ou Freseau. Une autre hypothèse serait que les Fraser étaient une tribu gauloise dont le blason était un fraisier.
