Le château de Mheer est situé dans la Dorpsstraat, au cœur du village du même nom, dans la commune limbourgeoise de Margraten. Le château existait déjà au XIVe siècle. En 1314, elle a été classée comme « maison en pierre ». Le travail mural en silex et posé dans une liaison à chevrons rappelle même le IXe siècle. Le complexe du château se compose d’un château à quatre niveaux et d’une cour en forme de U. Depuis 1668, le château de Mheer a été habité sans interruption par la famille de Loè.
