La battaglia di Bailén fu combattuta durante la guerra d'indipendenza spagnola e costituì la prima disfatta campale dell'esercito francese durante il periodo napoleonico. I combattimenti si svolsero dal 17 al 19 luglio 1808 nel territorio della città di Bailén in Spagna ed il 22 luglio il generale francese Pierre Dupont fu costretto alla resa con tutte le sue truppe dopo essere stato isolato a sud del Guadalquivir dall'esercito spagnolo del generale Francisco Javier Castaños. La disfatta francese fece scalpore in Europa, rinsaldò la resistenza antinapoleonica e favorì la costituzione di nuove alleanza contro la Francia.
