La Saab Automobile è stata una casa automobilistica svedese, fondata nel 1945 come divisione del gruppo Saab.
Nel 1945 la Saab AB, già affermata azienda produttrice di aeroplani, avviò un progetto per la costruzione di un'automobile, diventato noto come Progetto 92. Nel 1948 l'impianto dell'azienda di Trollhättan venne convertito per produrre automobili e contestualmente anche la sede del progetto fu spostata nella città. Nel 1949 fu progettato il primo modello di serie, la Saab 92, che venne prodotta in circa 20.000 unità, prima di essere sostituita nel 1955 dalla 93.
Nel 1959 la gamma venne ampliata con l'entrata in produzione della 95, una versione familiare della 93. In questi anni venne prodotta anche la 94, una vettura da competizione.
