La United States Naval Academy è un college ad Annapolis, nel Maryland che serve ad istruire gli ufficiali della United States Navy e dello United States Marine Corps.
Fu fondata il 10 ottobre 1845 dal Segretario alla Marina George Bancroft nel corso della presidenza di James Knox Polk. La scuola allora occupava un semplice forte di legno, chiamato Fort-Severn e si chiamava Naval School . Nel 1850, la scuola divenne Accademia navale e i suoi corsi passarono a quattro anni.
