Het megalithische veld
Het 8 km lange en 300 meter brede megalithische veld van Wéris telt talrijke menhirs die in een lijn staan volgens een zuidzuidwest/noordnoordoost-oriëntering die bepaald wordt door twee dolmens, Wéris I en Wéris II (3200/2600 v.Chr.).
Met hun min of meer gelijke afmetingen (+/-10 op 4,60 meter) zijn deze constructies voorzien van een voorportaal en een grafkamer met daarin een parallellepipedumvormige kist die aan drie zijden bedekt is met zware tegels.
De puddingsteen die daarvoor werd gebruikt, werd in de buurt ontgonnen.
Hoewel dit duidelijk een begrafenisplaats is, lijkt de opstelling van de menhirs ook wel astronomische bedoelingen te hebben.
