In Berendrecht en Zandvliet zijn er nog talrijke, soms verborgen, trage wegen.

Trage wegen zijn verbindingen tussen straten en dorpsdelen, vooral bestemd voor fietsers, voetgangers en ruiters. Soms zijn ze recent aangelegd, maar ze kunnen ook al 100-den jaren in gebruik zijn. De belangrijkste functies zijn: recreatie, veilige mobiliteit, natuurbeleving en erfgoed. Door verwaarlozing of juist door overdreven modernisering kunnen deze functies in het gedrang komen.

Deze activiteit is een onderdeel van de 10de Dag van de Trage Weg (www.tragewegen.be/dtw), en een organisatie van de Natuurpunt Antwerpen Noord, afdeling Polderdistrict.
