Op de Amerikaanse militaire begraafplaats in Romagne-sous-Montfaucon liggen 14.246 militairen die zijn gesneuveld gedurende de Eerste Wereldoorlog in Noordwest Frankrijk. Het is de grootste Amerikaanse militaire begraafplaats in Europa.
Het terrein van het kerkhof ligt in de oude frontlinie van het Meuse-Argonne-offensief dat zich afspeelde tussen 26 september en 11 november 1918. Het stuk grond werd op 14 oktober 1918 in gebruik genomen als begraafplaats nadat het net daarvoor was ingenomen door de Amerikaanse 32ste infanterie-divisie. Het terrein werd door de Franse regering in permanente bruikleen gegeven aan de VS.
