Tussen Normandië en de Loirekastelen nodigt de nationale Fietsroute V44 je uit voor een 250 km lange fietstocht over rustige landweggetjes en autovrije "voies vertes" (groene fietspaden). De V44 verbindt de Veloscénie in het noorden met de Loire fietsroute in het zuiden en is een fraaie ontdekkingstocht langs afwisselende landschappen en opmerkelijk architectonisch erfgoed. In de regio's Sarthe en Anjou kun je met volle teugen genieten van de pittoreske steden en dorpen, van Alençon dat bekend staat om zijn kant (UNESCO immaterieel cultureel erfgoed) tot de Loirevallei (UNESCO werelderfgoed).
