Dit is een 18e-eeuwse gebouwtje in de Manor Gardens.. In de 18e eeuw bouwden welgestelde landgoedeigenaren kleine gebouwtjes of artificiële grotten in hun tuin. Maar om het gebouw wat op te fleuren werden echte mensen ingehuurd die kluizeneaar of druïde dienden te spelen. Ze moesten hun haar en nagels laten groeien en zich niet wassen voor jaren. Dit gebruik kwamregelmatig voor in Engeland, maar ook in Schotland en Ierland. Dit "gebruik" verdween aan het eind van de 18e eeuw. Maar auteur en onderzoeker Gordon Campbell stelt in zijn boek "The Hermit in the Garden: From Imperial Rome to Ornamental Gnome" dat de tuinkluizenaar ëvolueerde tot de tuinkabouter die velen onder ons vandaag nog in de tuin hebben.
