Op een van de weinige wegen met oud asfalt is het een zeldzaamheid als je tijdens de beklimming 3 auto's tegenkomt. Het boerendorp Masseler heeft behalve voor haar eigen inwoners niks te bieden. De mooie wandel- en fietsnatuur buiten beschouwing gelaten. Nadat je het donkerblauwe bordje met Masseler bent gepasseerd duikt een zeer steil weggetje voor je neus op. Het is niet verplicht deze te nemen.
