Het Beleg van Maastricht vond plaats van 8 maart tot 29 juni 1579, tijdens de Tachtigjarige Oorlog, in en rondom de stad Maastricht. De groots opgezette aanval van de Spaanse veldheer Alexander Farnese op de vesting Maastricht leidde tot de bijna vier maanden durende belegering, de gewelddadige inname, de daarop volgende driedaagse plundering en de terugkeer van het Spaanse gezag in Maastricht . Zijn hoofdkwartier was een tijdlang de Waterburcht Pietersheim.
