Aquest carrer porta el nom de Jean de Bohème . L'any 1331 , Joan de Bohèmia, comte de Luxemburg i rei de Bohèmia, va fer de Durbuy una ciutat , construint muralles per tancar-la en un enclavament de 2 hectàrees , d'aquí el títol de «ciutat més petita del món»!
Durbuy es troba al Luxemburg belga, al cor de les Ardenes a Bèlgica, a l'Ourthe. La seva forma rodona revela que el riu l'envoltava completament sota l'antic pont, la place des foires i per l'anticlinal fins al llit actual de l'Ourthe. Durbuy era originàriament una illa, ben protegida per l'aigua, el castell i la muralla de la ciutat que feia 550 metres de llargada i més de 6 metres d'alçada.
