Bank Rue Jean de Boheme Durbuy

This street is named after Jean de Bohème . In 1331 , John of Bohemia, Count of Luxembourg and King of Bohemia, made Durbuy a city and built walls to enclose it in an enclave of 2 hectares , hence the title 'smallest city in the world'!

Durbuy is located in Belgian Luxembourg, in the heart of the Ardennes in Belgium, on the Ourthe. Its round shape reveals that the river completely surrounded it under the old bridge, the Place des Faires and along the saddle up to the current bed of the Ourthe . Durbuy was originally an island, well protected by the water, the castle and the city wall, which was 550 meters long and more than 6 meters high.
