Frankfurt del Main [ˈfraŋkfʊrt] en alemany, generalment anomenada Frankfurt malgrat el risc de confusió amb la ciutat de Frankfurt de l'Oder, és una ciutat alemanya. Situada a la vora del riu Main, és la ciutat més gran del Land de Hessen.
El nom li ve dels temps de les tribus germàniques. Significa el pas dels francs , una tribu germànica occidental.
