Cabrera d'Anoia és un municipi de la comarca de l'Anoia. Limita al nord-oest amb La Torre de Claramunt, al nord amb Capellades, al nord-est amb Vallbona d'Anoia i a l'est amb Piera. Al sud i l'oest limita amb la comarca de l'Alt Penedès, amb els municipis de Torrelavit, Sant Pere de Riudebitlles i Sant Quintí de Mediona. Durant la Segona República Espanyola el municipi fou denominat Cabrera del Penedès. El 4 de febrer de 2007 va deixar d'usar el nom de Cabrera d'Igualada i recuperà l'antic nom del municipi que fa referència a la comarca i a la conca del riu Anoia.
