L'Hospital de la Santa Creu fou, entre 1401 i 1926, l'hospital general de la ciutat de Barcelona, instal·lat en un edifici gòtic del segle xv. Es va crear amb la finalitat de reunir en un sol edifici els diferents hospitals que hi havia a la ciutat.
L'hospital de la Santa Creu de Barcelona té el seu origen l'any 1401, quan es van fusionar els sis hospitals que llavors hi havia a Barcelona: l'hospital Desvilar o de l'Almoina , i l'hospital de Marcús , que estaven regits pel consell de la ciutat; l'hospital Colom , i l'hospital Vilar o de Sant Macià, regits pel bisbat; l'hospital de Santa Eulàlia , i l'hospital de Santa Margarida, que depenien del capítol catedralici de Barcelona.
