El cementiri es troba a les ruïnes de l'Església del Salvador El Salvador. Està considerada una de les més belles d'Espanya ,
L'església va cremar durant la Guerra de la Independència .
Encara es conserva la torre , que fou restaurada l'any 1722; també es pot veure la cúpula central de l'església i la sagristia.
El traçat del cementiri és irregular i petit. La forma dels sepulcres varia des dels nínxols més antics encastats als murs antics de l'església, passant per alguns enterraments a terra i nínxols antics, fins a la construcció moderna de nínxols dels darrers anys.
