Aquesta muralla de la ciutat de Borgonya data del segle XV .
Aquest mur cortina, monument històric, connectava l'Abadia de San Winoc amb la resta de la ciutat , també per garantir la seguretat dels monjos.
L'alta muralla, reforçada per tres torres , va ser reforçada i emplenada de terra durant el regnat de l'emperador Carles V , adaptada per a canons antiaeris i després completada al segle XVII per Vauban amb la mitja lluna jesuítica.
