Aquest multicinema de 12 sales, classificat com a cinema d'art i assaig, està situat al centre de Charleville-Mézières, al cor de la zona de desenvolupament ZAC Montjoly.
Va ser dissenyat per l'arquitecte Jacques Freudenthal . Freudenthal es va inspirar en l' obra mestra cinematogràfica "Metrópolis" , que figura a la Llista del Patrimoni Mundial de la UNESCO, i el nom del cinema es basa en aquesta inspiració.
El multicinema es va acabar de construir el 2004 i va costar 7 milions d'euros.
