Este multicine de 12 salas, clasificado como cine de arte y ensayo, está situado en el centro de Charleville-Mézières, en el corazón de la zona de desarrollo ZAC Montjoly.
Fue diseñado por el arquitecto Jacques Freudenthal . Freudenthal se inspiró en la obra maestra cinematográfica "Metrópolis" , que figura en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO, y el nombre del cine se basa en esta inspiración.
El multicine se terminó de construir en 2004 y costó 7 millones de euros.
