Farsàlia era una ciutat de les més importants de Tessàlia al districte de Tessaliotis, al límit amb Ftiotis i a la riba esquerra de l'Enipeu. El seu nom en realitat era Farsalos, i el territori Farsàlia, però és més coneguda com a Farsàlia degut a la batalla així anomenada i a l'obra La Farsàlia un poema èpic llatí de Lucà que fa referència a la batalla.
