Venècia és una ciutat del nord d'Itàlia, capital de la regió del Vèneto i de la ciutat metropolitana homònima. La seva població és de 266.181 habitants , en un municipi de 421 km² del qual depèn la ciutat de Mestre, a terra ferma, i les illes de Murano, Burano i altres de menors. Limita amb els municipis de Campagna Lupia, Cavallino-Treporti, Chioggia, Jesolo, Marcon, Martellago, Mira, Mogliano Veneto , Musile di Piave, Quarto d'Altino, Scorzè i Spinea.
