El centre històric de Porto, és l'àrea més antiga de la ciutat de Porto que està inscrita a la llista del Patrimoni de la Humanitat de la UNESCO des del 1996. Inclouen les freguesies de Sé, São Nicolau, Vitória i de Miragaia.Malgrat tots els avenços i canvis que durant els temps s'han produït al centre històric de Porto, el conjunt urbà basat en el vell nucli medieval ofereix una imatge de coherència i homogeneïtat. Suggereix immutabilitat i permanència en el temps, el que proporciona un exemple únic d'un paisatge urbà dotat d'identitat, caràcter fort i qualitat estètica.
