La petita capella de São Bentinho és un bell santuari dedicat a San Benito.
A la capella del segle XVIII penja un bell quadre que representa Sant Benet, Sant Bernat i La nostra Senyora de la Llum. La Capela de São Bentinho ofereix un ambient íntim per practicar la fe.
La història d'aquesta capella està directament lligada a l'Hospital de São Marcos, centre de salut important per als habitants de Braga i molts altres de diferents parts del Miño.
La majoria dels pacients de l'hospital, o algú proper a ells, acudien a aquesta capella per demanar ajuda o agrair-los per tornar a casa.
Sant Benet, creador de l'Ordre dels Benedictins a Monte Casino, l'any 529, a la península itàlica, va ser també el fundador de la Regla de Sant Benet, una de les regles originals de la vida monàstica. El 1964 va ser considerat pel Papa Pau VI (1963-1978) com a patró d'Europa.
